Let's be honest here, it's fast food but A&W is something different. Something reminiscent of a bygone era of cool cars, drive in movie theaters, and bubble gum pop music.
This one isn't particularly amazing but it is one of the only ones left in Michigan and I love the cheese curds and root beer floats
How many restaurants are based solely on the popularity of their root beer, a lot of them based on their own beer but I can't think of one left hat still is based on its own brand of soft drink since dog n suds closed down
There is just something special and very underrated about A&W -

while the food is generally good, the service is beyond pathetic. Time and time,I say I won't be back. Yet here I am. I ordered a hamburger rings and a freeze.
A mere 35 minutes later I got it. There were people at seven other tables, two of which had been served before I ordered.
IF you have anything else in life to do pass! This will take ALL your time. -

Excellent chicken tenders perfect with a root beer
The best I ever had. The number 1 breakfast special is my go to order. Owners support the town like no others. Finally just the best root beer float. -

The food was alright, and arrived in a respectable amount of time, but the service has been sub par on numerous visits. Nothing crazy bad, mainly just lack of attention by the servers, messed up orders, etc. I'll probably take my boys there for some root beer floats and ice cream, but we probably won't go back for food.
